Fingering is a sex act whereby one's fingers are used to stimulate the vagina, vulva, labia, and/or anus by partial or full penetration. The clitoris can be massaged in tandem and fingering may be performed on oneself (masturbation) or by or with a sexual partner involving one or more digits. The act can be a complete sexual encounter on its own and is often associated with "making out" or heavy petting, or be used as a part of foreplay.
