Penetration is when a body part or object is inserted into an orifice such as a vagina, anus, or mouth. Common examples during sexual activity are when a penis enters a vagina and when a penis enters an anus. Fingers or an entire fist may penetrate the aforementioned orifices during foreplay and/or sex. The insertion of adult sex toys such as dildos, vibrators, strap-ons, anal beads and others into another person's genital area also constitutes "penetration".
